Shonie - R&B Singer (click here for myspace page)
The current music scene is never destitute or in need of a new hip hop dance, cliché or music movement, however the entertainment industry would be non existent if new and innovative, possibilities, languages, and challenges were not developed through new musical talent. Hip Hop is always in search of that new sound and form of distinction and most importantly a female songstress who is not afraid to step outside your traditional "R&B" box and sing lyrics that represent not only the streets, but the ongoing struggle of women around the world. This distinction is found in Slip n Slide Records' newcomer "SHONIE".
Life for a woman is anything but easy, that's why South Bronx, New York native "SHONIE" got an early start in her music career. At the tender age of nine years old, the young singer and her family moved to Miami, Florida and forged ahead towards a new scenery and outlook on life. During "SHONIE" and her families shift to South Florida; her mother recognized her daughters budding vocal talent. "My mom was heavily involved in the church, so it was only right that I join the church choir. It was at that time that my mom noticed my ability to carry a note. She then began to have me sing in front of different people to see if they would get the same reaction as she had after listening to me sing at church and around the house, and they all had the same response by saying, "That girl can SANG!!!" I had written my first song when I was 9 years old and finally got the chance to record it when my mom arranged for me to go into a real studio." Inserts "SHONIE"
Immediately after moving to Miami, the young doe–eyed songstress began her longtime journey as a singer. At the age of 17, "SHONIE" was offered a recording deal with an independent record label in Miami named "South Beat Records". It was there that she met her manager James Jackson of Slick Salt Entertainment, who released her nationally distributed mix tape, which was hosted by the infamous DJ Khaled. The female vocalist originally came onto the music scene as a rapper. "I have the gift to be versatile, so I plan on showing both sides." As any aspiring vocalist/songwriter/rapper would do, "SHONIE" kept her musical goals at hand. To date she has worked with the likes of various nationwide celebrities including Hip-Hop Superstar Trina, on the tracks such as "Wish I never Met You", Flo Rida, B5, Trick Daddy, Cool & Dre and more.
br>The inventive singer does not mind sharing her thoughts, secrets, or emotions to the world through her music. "I want to touch people all over the world with not only my vocal abilities, but my truth which is birthed through my lyrics. I want to be known as the popular songstress that is respected and successful for my sincerity that is displayed through my music." Drawing inspiration from artist such as Beyonce, Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, and most importantly Betty Wright; "SHONIE" is definitely setting the bar high for her music fans to appreciate her individual sound and craft. "Betty Wright was one of the main reasons I started singing. I was very young when I first heard her sing, but her voice and her swagger were just incredible! I think that's where I got my confidence and swagger from. I also loved her delivery on her vocals. "SHONIE" inserts in an earnest tone. When asked about future goals and objectives surrounding her career, "SHONIE" states that she "plans on branding herself as one of the greatest female entertainers that has ever blessed a microphone in this industry."
In the journey of this long road we call life; everyone has to have an alternative motive, or great theory. "SHONIE's" great theories consist of nothing more than making great music or better yet as she identifies it as ….."Bringing the 'HEAT' Nonstop."
Nove - Rapper (click here for myspace page)
It's very rare you come across pure incontrovertible talent. Untill now! Upsurging out of Miami, Fl. Slick Salt and Undaboss Entertainment presents Nove. At twenty-six Nove is a true artist that is multi-faceted with a style that is truly unique.
With his ear catching lyrics and GQ looks, Nove is dedicated to taking Slick Salt Entertainment to the next level.
Torrance “Nove” Stroman began rapping seriously at the age of sixteen. He tried and tried to get introduced to a reputable label, but to no avail.
Then there was a talent show at Florida Memorial University where James Jackson, CEO and President of Slick Salt Entertainment was in the audience.
Nove impressed James so much because he immediately saw the potential of Nove to become a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
Not only does Nove have the skills to make a club bounce, but he also has the hood for the hood and the commercial appeal that will have young teenage girls putting his poster on their walls.
In November of 2000 Novicane was added to the Slick Salt roster.
When asked who are and were some of his inspirations, he credits Jay-Z, Tupac and ‘Lil’ Wayne of the Cash Money Click. How ironic, because with Nove’s charisma and lyrical flow, Wayne needs to watch out.
Nove is something to behold because he has stage presence, energy, and a tight staccato flow. With his upcoming LP entitled Still Here (dedicated to the haters), Nove was ready to bring Slick Salt the long awaited recognition and platinum status they deserved.
Sadly “Nove” was unable to release a solo album due to the untimely death of his son but has released many underground albums, going just gold is not an option for the young platinum potential lyricist.
Generating such diverse hits, Nove is destined to freight himself from the Southern underground to national illumination.
